- Faithful, caring, social, regulator, interested
- I have had my own catering business for 6 years where I worked with local, organic products.
- Why FairShares? I was ready for a new challenge and this project was emerging in my vicinity. The mission of making people aware of the size of their carbon footprint appealed to me. In addition to, the idea to offer consumers the option to offset their emissions through an app. In my view, you can only move people through education and motivate people with positive solutions instead of doom scenarios and judgments.
You can only move people by educating them and creating motivation through positive solutions, instead of worst-case scenarios and judgements
Thinking about the choices we make is already a step in the right direction

- Biologist, specialized as a researcher in neurobiology
- Why FairShares? Since watching Before the flood in 2017, I have become more and more aware of how badly we treat our planet. Then I went to see how me and my family can reduce the impact we have. For example, as a family we have slowly switched to more plants and less meat. This is a learning process that we have been working on for years and where we are still gaining new insights regularly. We are far from perfect. What I missed is an easy insight into which (daily) things and choices are most harmful to the environment. What is the best way to start, for example, take a shorter or cold shower or stop eating beef? This choice will also differ per person or family. By starting FairShares I hope to give others more insight into these types of questions.

- Waarom FairShares? To allow people to consume more sustainably, in a way that matches our current way of life. At the moment we as humans are drawing too much of a burden on the earth; our current lifestyle is not sustainable. The solution is conscious consumption on the one hand and sustainable consumption on the other. This is achieved by informing consumers and enabling them to consume sustainably. I think our app, FairShares, is a perfect tool for this.

- Nerd, biologist, researcher, solver, maker
- From an early age, computers and technology have always been a common thread through my life. After my study biomedical sciences, I rolled into IT. Over the years I have mastered more and more programming languages and techniques. After some detours via implementation consultancy and even science communication, I eventually started my own web development business. Fortunately, the biologist in me can come to life, because I live in the middle of the forest and enjoy everything that lives and grows there.

Why FairShares? The challenge! Starting a business with a group of friends, learning a whole new set of techniques, all you really need is a good excuse. And what better excuse than contributing to a liveable future, for ourselves but especially for all generations after us.
If we all contribute to a livable future, we will do it for ourselves but especially for all generations after us
But Bram, can you actually do that? Yep, can’t be difficult.

- Why FairShares? It would be good if we limit climate change. Unfortunately, it takes a lot of effort to find out what your impact is. Is it better to eat less meat or leave the car more often? How many steaks are there on a return trip to Barcelona? And if you don’t want to make concessions, how do you offset your emissions? It remains elusive and impersonal, so you don’t do anything. There are countless websites where you can calculate and pay a few things, but that is not easy or transparent enough. Only 1 in 600 people compensate a KLM flight with CO2ZERO! It has to be simpler to reach everyone. Netflix or Spotify show you a large number of choices at a glance. And pay a small amount? Tikkie or iDeal. We are going to make an app!
